When a foreclosed home sells for more than what was owed, the state may hold the difference for the former owner. Foreclosure Recovery Inc. finds out whether funds are held in a family's name and handles the claim with them. There are no upfront fees; we are paid only when funds are recovered. Research public foreclosure sale records to find surplus funds held by the state for former owners.
What you will do
- Review public foreclosure and tax sale records to see where a sale brought more than what was owed.
- Confirm the surplus amount and the claim deadline with the state's published records.
- Skip-trace former owners and heirs with our tools and record what you verify.
- Mark anything you cannot verify as "to be verified" instead of guessing an amount.
What you need
- Strong written communication by email, text and chat.
- Comfortable with public records websites and careful, accurate data entry.
- Careful with details. You check your own work before it goes out.
- Reliable internet, a computer and a phone you can use for work.
- Authorized to work in the United States and living in the U.S.
How pay works
- Paid per hour or per assignment. The rate is in your written offer before you start.
- This is an independent contractor (1099) role, not employment. You set your own hours, use your own phone and computer, and are responsible for your own taxes.
- Applying is free. We will never ask you to pay to apply.
